Zero commission.
What about the rest?

See how trading, currency conversion and account fees add up. Compare two scenarios in Canadian dollars—using your own assumptions.

Start with an example, then replace the numbers.

A and B are hypothetical fee structures, not quotes from specific providers. Enter all amounts in CAD.

For monthly fees, enter the full 12-month cost. If fees are tiered, use a realistic effective rate for your transactions. Include a spread only if you know its percentage.

HOW THE MATH WORKS

Three costs. One yearly estimate.

Annual trading cost = number of orders × commission per order. Currency cost = total CAD-equivalent amount converted × the percentage entered. Add the full year’s fixed fees to get the estimate.

For example, converting $24,000 at 1.5% costs $360 in the percentage-based fee alone. A hypothetical 0.5% fee on the same amount is $120; a further $120 annual subscription brings that scenario to $240. That is a $120 difference under these assumptions, not a promised saving from any platform.

Real pricing may use minimums, tiers, separate exchange-rate spreads or waived subscriptions. Check a provider’s actual quote and current fee schedule. A lower calculated cost does not establish better investments, service or suitability.
